La vague écologique se heurterait-elle à un obstacle ?

- Here’s a good question for the Greens: Is security more important than climate protection? “In case of doubt, yes,” Climate Minister Robert Habeck, the vice chancellor, told Deutschlandfunk radio this week with remarkable candor. “This means that in the short term, we may have to keep coal-fired power plants in reserve, perhaps even keep them running, as a precautionary measure to be prepared for the worst. Pragmatism has to beat any political determination,” he said. Translation: The one huge priority of the Green party has just been thrown under the bus.
- Next up: Nuclear. Make no mistake, even an extension of the three remaining nuclear plants is being discussed within the Green party, despite its strong roots in the anti-nuclear movement of the 1970s and 80s. Habeck showed some openness to the idea but the debate will be heated: Environment Minister Steffi Lemke, also a Green politician, warned strongly against such a move.)
